Description

The Gateway Workforce Initiative is pleased to announce a special Lunch & Learn event featuring the leadership of J.F. Ingram State Technical College (ISTC) on Wednesday, June 18, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. The event will take place in the second-floor training room at Riviera Utilities, located at 413 E Laurel Ave, Foley, AL. This informative session is free to attend, but registration is required. Lunch will be provided to all registered participants.

ISTC is Alabama’s sole correctional education provider, offering adult education, career technical programming, and soft skills exclusively to incarcerated individuals in the Alabama prison system. The college has been instrumental in providing vocational training, such as its 10-week Utility Tree Trimming program, which addresses worker shortages in industries like forestry, HVAC, land management, and public utilities.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from ISTC leadership about the college’s mission, programs, and the impact of its training initiatives on the local workforce. This event is ideal for employers, community leaders, and anyone interested in workforce development and reentry programs.
