Foley, AL – The Lower Alabama Young Professionals (LAYP) turned their recent social event into a memorable evening of fun and philanthropy. Hosted at the Bier Shack Tap Room in Foley, the gathering not only provided a night of entertainment but also resulted in a generous donation of $1,500 to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The event, dubbed an "AXE-citing Night," featured lively axe throwing, socializing, and networking among members of the LAYP community. Participants embraced the spirited atmosphere, and their enthusiasm translated into significant support for a crucial cause.
The LAYP, a collaborative initiative between the South and Coastal Chambers of Commerce, is dedicated to fostering connections among young professionals. Their mission is threefold: to CONNECT through engaging social and networking events, to ENGAGE in meaningful philanthropic efforts, and to DEVELOP members through valuable professional development opportunities.
The donation to the Alzheimer’s Association underscores LAYP’s commitment to impactful outreach and community support. The association's work is crucial in advancing research and providing support for those affected by Alzheimer's disease, and this contribution will play a role in furthering those efforts.
"The Organization has been blessed with a group of members that fully embrace our philanthropic efforts. Their generosity is evident in the amount of time they selflessly volunteer to plan events like this, along with the amount of funding we allocate for these causes," shared Derrick Cook, SBCC Chief Financial Officer and liaison for LAYP. "Events like these allow our members and other attendees to network and connect as we actively look for ways to give back and improve our local communities."
The success of the event highlights the growing impact of the LAYP's initiatives and their dedication to making a difference. As they continue to host engaging events and contribute to meaningful causes, the LAYP proves that young professionals in Lower Alabama are making strides both in their careers and in their community.
