Solid Waste Disposal Authority Launches New Curbside Recycling Program in Collaboration with the City of Daphne

Daphne, Ala. – In June, the Solid Waste Disposal Authority (SWDA) of Baldwin County, in collaboration with the City of Daphne, officially launched its new curbside recycling program providing residents with a convenient opportunity to support a cleaner, more sustainable community.

The first wave of recycling carts has already been delivered to more than 450 Daphne households that opted into the new service. Residents can recycle a variety of common household items made of paper, plastic, and aluminum. For a complete list of accepted materials, visit baldwincountyswda.org/recycling/recycling-details.

“This program is about giving our residents the tools to make a real difference,” said Daphne Mayor Robin LeJeune. “By providing curbside recycling and supporting expanded facilities, we’re investing in a cleaner, more sustainable future for our city and all of Baldwin County.” Residents within Daphne city limits can sign up for curbside recycling at any time for $10 per month, which helps cover the cost of hauling, sorting, and responsibly processing recyclable materials. Daphne residents have the option of monthly, quarterly, or annual billing through SWDA of Baldwin County."
